Skin gel (retinoid) for treating acne.

Clinical information

Common uses

  • acne vulgaris, age 12 and older

Common side effects

  • skin redness
  • scaling
  • dryness
  • burning or stinging

Cautions

  • avoid sunlight and sunlamps; wear sunscreen
  • stop if allergic reaction such as face or eyelid swelling
  • other irritating skin products increase irritation

Interactions

  • medicated or abrasive soaps and drying cosmetics (more irritation)
