joint pain
high blood pressure
feeling sick
hot flushes

Cautions

raises blood pressure and lowers potassium — monthly monitoring
liver damage can be severe — regular liver tests
not for severe liver disease
men should use contraception — fetal harm possible

Interactions

strong CYP3A4 inducers (avoid)
narrow-margin CYP2D6 medicines (avoid or reduce dose)
pioglitazone or repaglinide (severe low blood sugar risk)

Pregnancy: not for women — can harm an unborn baby
