Clinical information
Common uses
- HR-positive, HER2-negative early breast cancer (with endocrine therapy)
- advanced or metastatic HR-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer
Common side effects
- diarrhoea
- low white blood cell counts
- feeling sick and vomiting
- tiredness
- loss of appetite
Cautions
- severe diarrhoea with dehydration can occur
- lung inflammation (pneumonitis) can be severe or fatal
- liver problems — regular blood tests needed
- can harm an unborn baby
Interactions
- ketoconazole (avoid)
- other strong/moderate CYP3A inhibitors (dose reduction)
- strong/moderate CYP3A inducers (avoid)
Pregnancy: avoid — can harm an unborn baby
