The historical charts record it; it no longer exists — a separate island on the himmafushi reef until a sand spit joined the two; the former gaamaadhoo is the north-eastern end of today’s hinmafushi. held the gaamaadhoo prison until it was destroyed in the 1998 riot that moved inmates to maafushi.. Today it is part of Hinmafushi.
