habitat and biology
This species inhabits coral and rocky reefs to depths of 60 m, and can be seen either alone, in pairs, or in groups. Its diet consists of soft corals and zooplankton.

This fish has a dorsal fin with 13 spines and 20-23 rays, an anal fin with 3 spines and 18-19 rays, and a pectoral fin with 14 rays, with a body depth of 1.4-1.7 in standard length.
