The plant has several medicinal properties such as astringent, expectorant, emetic, febrifuge, cardiac stimulant, anti- inflammatory, diaphoretic, laxative and tonic. It is also used in treating all types of inflammations, strangury, scabies, jaundice, anaemia, dyspepsia, constipation, cough, bronchitis and general debility. The roots are used in the treatment of asthma, anaemia to and internal inflammations.

description
Herbs with long trailing branches and deep tap root; stem reddish, tomentose. Leaves simple, unequal, ovate, obtuse, undulate along margins, truncate to subcordate at base, tomentose, very variable in size; petiole to 1 cm long. Flowers 4 mm long, 4-10 together, in axillary or terminal peduncled umbels; bracts 5, ovate, glandular. × Perianth pink. Stamens 3. Capsule 3 1 mm, clavate, 5-ribbed, glandular.
