habitat and biology
This species is often spotted on the outer edges of coral reefs and in the clear waters of the open ocean, usually at depths of 25-65 meters. Its diet consists mainly of fish.

The first dorsal fin has 8 spines, the second dorsal fin has 1 spine and 20-22 rays, the anal fin has 2 detached spines followed by 1 spine and 16-19 rays, the lobe of the dorsal fin is relatively long, the breast is completely scaled, and the profile of the head is relatively steep and regular.
